The project consists of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, and materials for the construction of a new bridge/low water crossing structure, including removal of the existing structure and improvements, excavation and embankment construction, dewatering, new concrete end bent construction, placing precast/prestressed reinforced concrete deck members, furnishing and placing rip rap stone, approach road construction and surfacing, restoration of adjacent grades, seeding and mulching, and any other associated items to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc. The key features of the project include: • Removal of existing improvements/grubbing • On-site excavation • 8" thick type (5) aggregate base • 8" thick concrete pavement • Furnishing type 2 rock blanket, 24" thick • Construction signing • Type III barricades • General contract requirements, including mobilization and demobilization • Separation geotextile • Furnish and install fertilizing, seeding, and mulching • Furnish and install silt fencing • Class 1 excavation in rock • Class B-1 concrete (substructure) • Reinforced concrete approach slabs with turndowns • Precast, prestressed concrete box beams, 48" wide x 11" deep x 25' long The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The contractor shall perform a minimum of 30% of the project work directly with their own forces.
