The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking a consultant team to provide construction management services for the Fifth Avenue Corridor Public Realm Project. The project involves the demolition of the existing roadway, streetscape, and utilities along 5th Avenue between 40th St and 61st St, and the reconstruction of the roadway with a central dedicated bus lane, narrowed crosswalks, street trees, lighting, furnishings, and plantings. The scope also includes lining of existing sewers, new trunk and distribution water mains, replacement of private utilities, and sidewalk reconstruction. Key aspects of the project include: • Demolition of the existing roadway, streetscape, and utilities • Reconstruction of the roadway with a central dedicated bus lane • Narrowed crosswalks, street trees, lighting, furnishings, and plantings • Lining of existing sewers, new trunk and distribution water mains, and replacement of private utilities • Sidewalk reconstruction and resurfacing of certain streets The NYCEDC plans to select a consultant based on factors such as the quality of the proposal, experience of key staff, experience and quality of subcontractors, and proposed fee. The project has Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) participation goals, and respondents will be required to submit an M/WBE Participation Proposal with their response.
