The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking bids for timber sale services. The successful bidder will be required to provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees to harvest and remove timber from the LaTour Demonstration State Forest. The bidder must be licensed to do business in California and have a valid Business License or Incorporation papers. The bidder must also submit a certified check, cashier's check, bank draft, or money order in the amount of $20,000.00 as a deposit to be held by the STATE as a guarantee that all periodic payments shall be made in advance of cutting. Some key points of the project include: • Operations shall be planned to be conducted between May 1st and October 15th. • The bidder must comply with all federal, state, city, and county laws, rules, or regulations affecting the work. • The bidder must have a valid Motor Carrier Permit(s) (MCP) issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) if required by California Vehicle Code §34601 and 34620. • The bidder must possess an active and valid Licensed Timber Operations (LTO) license with the California Board of Forestry. • The bidder must provide proof of insurance and a satisfactory performance bond, certificate of deposit, or irrevocable letter of credit in the sum of $125,000.00 within 15 working days from the receipt of notice of the acceptance of bid. The project includes the harvesting of various tree species, including Ponderosa Pine, Sugar Pine, Douglas Fir, and Incense Cedar. The project also includes the construction and maintenance of roads and landings, and the implementation of a Shaded Fuel Break prescription.
