Description:
The City of Norfolk is seeking a responsible vendor to provide truck crane inspections and maintenance services. The selected contractor will be required to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and provide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts for the City's truck cranes. The contractor must have facilities within a 25-mile radius of the City's location and must be an authorized dealer of OEM parts or have access to them. The contract will be for a period of five years, and the City reserves the right to cancel or modify the contract at any time. Key aspects of the job include: • Inspection services will be performed on an as-needed basis, with the City's truck cranes historically being inspected annually. • Preventative maintenance services will be performed at the contractor's location, with vehicles delivered to the contractor's facility by City employees. • Repair services will be performed at the contractor's location, with the option for on-site repairs if necessary. • The contractor must provide a written cost estimate for all work, including parts and labor, and must obtain approval from the City before commencing work. • The contractor must also provide monthly and yearly reports of all work performed, including itemized lists of parts and labor.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$125,000 – $200,000

Based on the information provided, the City has historically invested approximately $10,000 per year in truck crane parts and $15,000 per year in truck crane repairs. Considering the scope of work, which includes inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and provision of OEM parts, a reasonable estimate for the total contract value over five years could be around $125,000 to $200,000, assuming the City's annual expenditures remain consistent. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could vary depending on the contractor's pricing and the City's actual needs.
