Pierce County is seeking a contractor to establish a Community Tree Planting Program that supports the County's long-term sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental justice objectives. The program will focus on planting, caring for, and building stewardship for trees in historically underrepresented and overburdened communities in urban unincorporated areas of the county. The contractor will be responsible for community engagement, partnerships, program development, tree procurement, implementation, maintenance, and records and reporting. • The program will prioritize native, climate-adapted tree species sourced from regional suppliers. • The contractor will provide a quality check on planting stock and give Pierce County final approval of species selection. • The contractor will facilitate community urban forestry events and provide tree care information to community members. • The contractor will maintain accurate records and submit annual progress reports to Pierce County Staff.
