Description:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking a contractor to provide transportation support services for disaster response and recovery efforts in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The contractor will be responsible for providing all-inclusive, multimodal transportation and shipping services from a Continental United States (CONUS) point of origin to Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) point of need. The services will include maritime, ground transportation, cross-docking, warehousing, and other related services. The contractor will be required to have experience in shipping in the Caribbean area of operations and working with local, territory, commonwealth, and federal governments. The contract will be for a base period of 12 months with two optional 12-month periods. Some key points to consider: • The contractor must be able to provide door-to-door, cross-dock, freight forwarding service operations (sea conveyance) of FEMA lifesaving resources, FEMA equipment, and supplies. • The contractor must have the capability to move approximately 4,000 containers/trailers on a monthly basis with sufficient chassis to support continuous service. • The contractor must provide a detailed yard report of containers, breakbulk, and rolling stock under their control on a daily basis to the COR. • The contractor must have a quality control plan in place to ensure the highest standard of quality is established and maintained in the performance of the contract and task orders.
