The Maryland School for the Deaf is seeking a contractor to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for both the Frederick and Columbia campuses. The contractor will provide ASL interpretation and voicing in accordance with Maryland state policies and laws. The contract will be for a period of three years, with the option to renew. The contractor will be required to provide interpreters with a minimum of three years' experience and current certifications. The contractor will also be required to provide a background check for interpreters and ensure that they comply with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) standards for interpretation, RID's Code of Professional Conduct, and RID's Code of Ethics. • Key responsibilities include: providing ASL interpreting services, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations, providing background checks for interpreters, and ensuring interpreters meet the required certifications and experience. • The contract will be awarded based on a competitive sealed proposal process, with evaluation criteria including technical merit, price, and experience. • The contractor will be required to provide a financial proposal, including hourly rates for different types of interpreting services. • The contract will include provisions for invoicing, payment, and termination.
