The USSOCOM RCA 17 event is a Rapid Capability Assessment that aims to develop, describe, and assess capabilities for the future needs of SOF and CIA operators and analysts in the 2035 timeframe. The event will focus on five areas: Advanced Analytics, Mapping Building Infrastructure, Novel Energy Sources, Data Communications/Exfiltration, and Edge Device Optimization. Participants will collaborate to develop key outputs, including a subsystem-level architectural breakdown of the capabilities developed during the event, identified risks and constraints, and a technology development roadmap. • The event is open to experts from industry, academia, government, and national laboratories. • Participants will be selected based on their expertise in areas such as advanced energy systems, artificial intelligence, communications technologies, and data science. • The event will take place in Chantilly, VA, from 20 April 2026 to 24 April 2026. • After the event, USSOCOM S&T and/or CIA DS&T may prioritize capability concepts and negotiate awards with selected participants.
