The East Orange Board of Education is seeking a licensed physician to serve as the district’s “School Physician,” providing comprehensive medical oversight, policy development, student health examinations, emergency care guidance, and liaison services with health agencies for the 2026‑2027 school year. The contractor will work closely with school nurses, administrators, and public‑health officials to ensure compliance with state statutes and to support the health needs of students and staff. • Develop and maintain health‑safety policies, emergency care standards, standing orders, and AED policies. • Conduct physical examinations, sports‑participation clearances, and tuberculin testing authorizations. • Provide consultation, on‑call support, and coordination with external medical providers, including home‑instruction reviews and communicable‑disease management. • Organize an annual district‑wide flu‑shot clinic and serve as the primary medical liaison for the district. • Deliver written reports, attend meetings with the Superintendent/Business Administrator, and maintain all required insurance, licensing, and compliance documentation.
