The St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking a contractor to provide lock tending services for three waterway navigation locks and dams located within the Ocklawaha River Basin. The locks are operated seven days a week and provide vessel passage along the Apopka-Beauclair Canal, Haynes Creek, and the Ocklawaha River. The initial term of the contract will expire on September 30, 2028, with an estimated budget of $975,000. The contractor will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the locks and dams. Some key requirements for the contractor include: • Having at least three years of experience in managing and operating water control structures, locks, and dams • Having successfully completed a project of a similar nature with a value of at least $100,000 within the past eight years • Providing at least two client references who can verify the contractor's qualifications and past performance record • Submitting evidence of active registration with the State of Florida Division of Corporations to do business in Florida • Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and District policies and procedures
