The Montgomery County Board of Assessors is seeking proposals for the reappraisal of all real property within the county. The selected contractor will be responsible for performing a walk-around review of all major improvements, assigning a year built, observed condition, and quality grade, and transferring data to field cards furnished by the county. The contractor will also be required to review and edit all data, information, and values prior to the mailing of assessment notices, and defend the appraised values at hearings with taxpayers. The project is expected to begin on January 2, 2026, and be completed by December 31, 2026. Some key points to consider are: • The contractor must have a working knowledge of Georgia laws and Department of Revenue rules and regulations dealing with ad valorem taxation of real property. • The contractor will be required to provide a detailed cost breakdown of each commercial and industrial structure. • The contractor will be required to measure and review all new construction as identified by permits by the county. • The contractor will be required to develop new schedules reflecting current cost and/or market conditions in Montgomery County. • The contractor will be required to enter all data into the county's Wingap system and provide remote access. • The contractor will be required to review and edit all data, information, and values prior to the mailing of assessment notices.
