The New Hanover County Department of Recycling and Solid Waste is seeking proposals for wood and vegetative waste grinding services at the New Hanover County Landfill. The contractor will be responsible for grinding approximately 100 tons of vegetative waste during each grinding event, as well as grinding treated lumber for on-site use. The contractor will also be responsible for hauling away sorted wood waste for recycling within two weeks of each grinding event. The contract term is expected to be approximately 3 years, with an option to renew for one 3-year renewal period. • The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, tools, supplies, maintenance, and other items necessary to complete the services within the contract scope. • The contractor will be responsible for loading wood chips into trailers on-site at the NHC Landfill. • The contractor will specify the size of transportation trailers to be used. • The contractor will provide detailed specifications for acceptable wood for grinding, including the percentage of allowable contamination. • The contractor will conduct at least one grinding event quarterly, including the processing of all material on-site. • The contractor will haul away sorted wood waste for recycling within two weeks from the end of each grinding event.
