Description:
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking information from potential contractors for the installation of OM5 Multimode Fiber Optic Cabling in various communications rooms and locations throughout the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF). The project requires the installation of 20 fiber optic runs in approximately five separate locations, with the fiber optic cable being armored and consisting of subunits bound together by a PVC outer jacket. The contractor shall provide interconnections, services, and adjustments required for a complete and operable data transmission system. • The fiber optic cable shall comply with UL rating 1666 or UL 910. • The outside diameter of each unit shall be 6.2mm, making the overall cable dimensions 7.2mm x 13.4mm. • Fiber optic cable shall be pre-terminated such that the termination of individual fiber strands at the patch panel is not required. • All connectors of a particular type shall be purchased from the same manufacturer. • Inspection and Testing of fiber optic cabling shall be conducted in accordance with the Government's requirements.
