The FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) is seeking a Pyrolysis–Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (Py-GCMS) instrument to analyze microplastics. The instrument should be able to characterize mixtures of microplastics for their chemical composition and provide rapid, simplified, high-quality data. The contract includes the purchase of the instrument and post-warranty maintenance and service for up to 4 years. Some key features of the instrument include: • A multifunctional pyrolizer system • A gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) system • Automated, unattended analysis of multiple samples • A touch screen graphical user interface • The ability to export and save data in both ASCII and spectral format. The contractor will be responsible for installing the instrument, providing training, and performing maintenance and repairs.
