Description:
The Borough of Burlington Township is seeking qualified contractors to upgrade the Beverly Road Water Treatment Plant to address PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination. The scope includes engineering, procurement, and construction of new treatment technologies, installation of revised metal ductwork, and incorporation of updated design drawing M‑4. The addendum revises the bid receipt date to October 3, 2023 and adds technical specifications for metal ducts. Bidders must acknowledge the addendum in their proposals. • Upgrade existing water treatment processes to effectively remove PFAS contaminants. • Install new metal ductwork as detailed in revised Section 233113 of the technical specifications. • Follow revised design drawing M‑4 for layout and equipment placement. • Submit bids by the new deadline (Oct 3, 2023, 10 a.m.) at the Municipal Center, 851 Old York Road, Burlington Township.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$1,000,000 – $3,000,000

Based on typical municipal water‑treatment upgrades for PFAS removal, project budgets often range from $1 million to $5 million, depending on the treatment technology selected (e.g., granular activated carbon, ion exchange) and the extent of ductwork modifications. Assuming a mid‑size plant upgrade with metal‑duct installation, a reasonable estimate is $1‑3 million for the contractor’s scope. Factors influencing the final amount include the chosen PFAS treatment method, material costs for metal ducts, and any unforeseen site conditions.
