The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to replace the Cardiac Cath Lab at the Washington DC VAMC. The project involves the installation of a ceiling mounted patient lift system, which must meet specific requirements and standards, including ISO 10535 and UL 60601-1. The system must have a lifting capacity of 750-1200 lbs, electronic soft-start and soft-stop motor control, emergency lowering and stopping devices, and a current limiter for circuit protection. The contractor must provide training for personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of the lift system equipment. • The ceiling track system must be made from high-tech extruded aluminum or VA-approved equal. • The lift unit must be constructed of a steel frame system driven by a gear-reduced high-torque motor or VA-approved equal. • The system must have a rechargeable battery with up to 120 transfers with a load of 200lbs. • The contractor must provide a manufacturer's checklist for after-installation inspection and conduct performance tests in the presence of the Resident Engineer and/or Inspector of Record.
