The City of Salem is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to provide a five-week summer educational and enrichment program for Salem Public Schools students, specifically elementary-aged students (Grades 1-5). The program will run Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 3:30 pm, at one school within Salem Public Schools. The provider will be responsible for providing research-based, differentiated instruction, taking advantage of community partnerships, offering afternoon enrichments, and including youth development goals. The City of Salem will provide facility space, student recruitment, and support staff. Some key points to consider: • The program will serve approximately 200 students, with an emphasis on instruction and enrichment activities designed for students within the range of grades 1-5. • The provider must demonstrate success in providing similar summer programs, with a focus on academic and enrichment activities. • The provider must comply with all applicable laws, including those related to taxes, reporting of employees and contractors, and child support. • The provider must provide a detailed program proposal, including a description of the programming, staffing plan, training plan, and strategies for managing student behavior. • The provider must also provide evidence of success in providing summer programming, including at least three references from school districts where they have successfully provided comparable services.
