The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Division of Purchases is seeking bids for the provision of attenuators and arrow boards for truck and trailer mounting. The contract will be for an initial period of one year, with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods. The successful bidder will be required to provide attenuators and arrow boards that meet the specifications outlined in the solicitation, including compliance with the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) 350, Test Level 3 (TL-3) criteria. The contract will be awarded to the bidder with the lowest price and best delivery. • The attenuators and arrow boards must be designed for mobile work zone shadow vehicles and stationary work zone barrier vehicles. • The attenuators must provide impact protection to work crews in front of the shadow vehicle or the barrier vehicle and to the motorist who might drive into the lane closed off by one of these vehicles. • The arrow boards must contain 15 Par 46, 12-volt, amber, low amp draw, sealed LED lamps with 360-degree hoods. • The control unit must be provided with the necessary cable to operate the board from the cab of the vehicle. • The mounting brackets must be available for mounting on standard single-axle dump trucks or flatbed trucks.
