Description:
The City of Seattle is seeking a consultant to design six fish passage improvement projects and three stream habitat restoration projects in the tributaries to Boundary Reservoir near the town of Metaline Falls in northeast Washington. The scope includes preparation of 30/60/90 percent designs, specifications, and construction oversight. The consultant will work with the City Light project manager to keep the project on schedule and within budget. The project team must have experience working on fish passage and stream restoration projects, and must have knowledge and expertise in fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, ecology/biology, and engineering. • The six fish passage improvement projects will replace culverts that are full or partial barriers to native salmonids. • The three stream restoration projects will involve using large wood debris and engineered log jams to increase pool area, gravel sorting, channel complexity, and floodplain connectivity. • The project team must have experience working with Tribes and Agencies, and must have demonstrated experience working on projects that involved consultation with an oversight or stakeholder committee. • The project team must have a minimum of one team member with a BS, MS, or PHD in the biological sciences, and at least three years working in the field. • The project team must have a minimum of one team member with experience in physical environmental sciences, and at least three years working in the field. • One team member must possess a Washington State Engineering License and have three years of professional engineering experience.
