The Department of Public Advocacy is seeking a Capital Mental Health Consultant to provide consulting services to the criminal defense death penalty teams. The consultant will lead case reviews, develop agendas, and facilitate case reviews with the teams. The consultant will also assist with mental health training for the Department of Public Advocacy staff. The contract is expected to start on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2028, with the option to renew for up to two additional two-year periods. The consultant will be paid on an hourly basis, with a maximum of 133 hours. Key responsibilities include: * Lead case reviews and consultations with criminal defense death penalty teams * Develop agendas for case reviews * Facilitate case reviews with the teams * Assist with mental health training for the Department of Public Advocacy staff * Provide recommendations for training and participate in planning discussions * Assist with death penalty regional and distance learning trainings
