The City of Dearborn Heights is soliciting bids for the Warren Valley Parking Lot Asphalt Resurfacing project. The project involves resurfacing approximately 26,000 square yards of HMA surface parking lot with miscellaneous curb and gutter, concrete pavement, ADA sidewalks, signs, and pavement markings. The project also includes two bid alternates: one for 1,900 feet of curb and gutter installation and another for an additional pavement area consisting of 200 cubic yards of earth excavation, aggregate base, and 120 tons of HMA. The contractor will be responsible for completing all work specified in the contract documents, including traffic maintenance and control, inlet filters, soil erosion silt fences, removal of concrete curb and gutter, removal of bituminous pavement, and more. The contractor will also be required to provide a bid bond, sign an agreement, and submit satisfactory bonds and certificates of insurance coverage. • The project requires the contractor to work in two distinct phases, with the first phase including the east construction area and the second phase including the west construction area. • The contractor must maintain access to all roadways, sidewalks, and driveways at all times, whenever possible, utilizing maintenance gravel. • The contractor must protect existing improvements, such as decorative or street lighting systems, irrigation systems, and landscaping. • The contractor must coordinate with other contractors working on adjacent projects to ensure the orderly completion of the work and the timely completion of the contract. • The contractor must obtain necessary permits and pay all fees and costs associated with the permits.
