Description:
The State of Michigan's Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is seeking a consultant to develop a Michigan Climate Vulnerability Assessment and corresponding recommendations, as well as a geospatial mapping tool. The assessment should reflect Michigan-specific conditions for current and projected climate conditions, population and demographic information, and data related to infrastructure and the natural environment. The consultant will be required to participate in regular meetings with EGLE and a designated interagency working group, and be available for briefings to state leadership, legislative staff, and external partners as requested. The contract is expected to begin on April 27, 2026, and last for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. Some key points to consider: * The consultant will be required to provide a detailed project schedule with milestones, review periods, and completion dates for each task. * The consultant will be required to maintain a detailed project schedule and implement a structured system for tracking data sources, model changes, assumptions, and internal reviews. * The consultant will be required to ensure quality control through internal peer review before submission of deliverables. * The consultant will be required to assign a project manager with experience in climate vulnerability assessments and interagency coordination. * The consultant will be required to demonstrate prior experience with climate vulnerability assessments and policy recommendations. * The consultant will be required to include team expertise in climate vulnerability assessments and/or climate adaptation or resilience strategic planning.
