Description:
The Bulk Energy Storage Incentive Program provided by NYSERDA offers financial support for new energy storage systems over 5 megawatts (MW) of power. These systems must provide wholesale market energy, ancillary services, and/or capacity services, and may be interconnected at the transmission, sub-transmission, or distribution level. The program aims to compensate for benefits such as cost savings, environmental benefits, hosting capacity improvements, and system resiliency over a 20-year life of the storage asset. • Eligible energy storage systems include commercially available chemical, thermal, or mechanical systems physically located within New York State. • Projects located in Con Edison’s service territory are not currently eligible for incentives. • Applications will be accepted through December 31, 2025. • The program provides incentives through a declining incentive structure. • The contract term is for applications submitted through December 31, 2025.
