The City of Joplin, Missouri is seeking bids for the preparation, repair, and painting of the Joplin Historical & Mineral Museum's west facing facade. The project includes painting all columns, soffits, fascia, lintels, and downspouts on the western face of the museum, and the southwestern face of the 2nd floor exterior. The project is estimated at 2,690 square feet. The successful bidder will be required to provide a 2-year warranty on labor and materials. Key aspects of the project include: • Surfaces to be cleaned/prepped prior to painting • Loose or peeling existing coating to be removed and exposed substrates will be sealed with appropriate primer • Apply 2-coats of premium quality paint • Brick and non-painted surfaces to be protected from drips or overspray • All holes and cracks between adjoining painted surfaces will be filled with caulking prior to painting • Any rotted boards to be replaced • Repair/Replace any loose or broken nails/screws • All work is to be completed in a workman-like manner • 2-year warranty on labor and materials if paint failure appears • Contractor is responsible for the disposal of all debris in accordance with Local, State, and Federal requirements • Color to be specified
