The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking sources that can provide phacoemulsification systems for the Kansas City VA Medical Center. The system should have features such as ultrasound power modulation, aspiration and irrigation systems, user interface, safety features, energy efficiency, handpieces, programmable settings, compatibility, portability, maintenance and sterilization, and advanced technologies. The system will be used for cataract surgery and other intraocular procedures. • The system must be able to emulsify and remove the eye's natural lens that has developed an opacification. • The system must have efficient fluid management systems to maintain anterior chamber stability. • The system must have integrated real-time monitoring of intraocular pressure, flow rates, and vacuum levels. • The system must have automatic shutdown or alert systems in case of irregularities. • The system must have customizable settings for different surgeons or different stages of the surgery. • The system must be compatible with various surgical instruments, tips, and accessories. • The system must have a compact and portable design for easier transport and storage.
