Description:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to Woodward, Inc. for the Next Generation Full Authority Digital Control (FADC) aboard DDG-51 class ships. The acquisition will fill a need for an improved Ship Service Gas Turbine Generator Full Authority Digital Control (SSGTG FADC). The existing DDG-51 Class SSGTG FADC contains obsolete components critical to SSGTG operation and lacks cybersecurity hardening capabilities due to hardware and software limitations. • The next generation SSGTG FADC (XT FADC) will directly replace the existing unit utilizing the current input/output structure and control algorithms, while upgrading hardware and software to improve availability, reliability, maintainability, and supportability of the SSGTG. • The P/N for this next generation XT FADC are: XT FADC 9900-1041 - AG9140RF - GENSET FADC Control System and XT FADC 9900-1043 - AG9140 - GENSET FADC Control System. • Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement, and the Government will consider all information received prior to the closing date of this synopsis.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide specific information on the contract value. However, considering the complexity of the Next Generation Full Authority Digital Control (FADC) and the fact that it's a sole source contract, the budget could be substantial. The contract may involve significant research, development, and manufacturing of the XT FADC, which could drive up costs. Additionally, the contract may require ongoing maintenance and support, which could also impact the budget. A possible estimate could be in the range of $1 million to $10 million, but this is highly speculative and may not reflect the actual contract value.
