Description:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide high and low pressure boiler maintenance and safety device testing services at the Hudson Valley Health Care System, located in Montrose and Castle Point, New York. The contractor will be responsible for performing routine and emergency repairs, boiler safety device testing, tuning, and calibration, as well as providing all necessary labor, management, tools, supplies, and equipment. The contract will be for a base period of one year, with four option years. The contractor must have experience with institutional and industrial boiler plants similar in design to the Hudson Valley plants, and must demonstrate familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including NFPA 85 and the VHA Boiler Plant Safety Device Testing Manual. • The contractor must provide a capability statement and examples of similar work performed at other facilities. • The contractor must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field and have completed at least 1 year of trade school. • The contractor must have access to portable electronic flue gas analyzers and other test instruments necessary for the required tests and calibrations. • The contractor must be equipped to provide R-stamp welder services or have the ability to procure third-party services. • The contractor must be able to provide support for non-emergency repairs, including phone support, troubleshooting, and repair quotes. • The contractor must be able to provide emergency repair service, including labor, parts, and travel, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
