The City of South San Francisco is inviting bids for the Westborough Preschool Project, which includes the demolition of existing structures, tree removal, and the construction of a new preschool facility, public restroom, and ancillary facilities. The project also includes the construction of an outdoor play area, a covered outdoor walkway, and the realignment of a maintenance road. The successful bidder will be required to possess a valid California Class B Contractor’s License and to furnish a written guaranty covering certain items of work for varying periods of time. The project is expected to be completed within a certain timeframe, and the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Some key features of the project include: • Construction of a new 7,135 s.f. building with five indoor classrooms, one covered outdoor classroom, and administrative office space. • Construction of an outdoor play area, including a trike path, climbing structures, and natural play areas. • Alterations to the existing parking lot, including new curb cuts, vehicle gates, and accessible parking. • Realignment and construction of a new section of maintenance road. • Installation of new utilities, including fire water service, electrical transformer, and MSB. • Relocation of an existing fuel tank and generator. • New landscaping and irrigation facilities, including 16 trees and native- and low-water plants. • New bioretention areas for stormwater treatment. The City is looking for a bidder who can demonstrate experience and competency in performing similar construction work, and who can provide a comprehensive bid that includes all required information and supplements.
