Description:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a contractor to repair a damaged and degraded public boat ramp at the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa. The project involves removing the existing concrete boat ramp and replacing it with a new one. The contractor will be responsible for demolishing the damaged concrete and rebar section, preparing the bedding for the new concrete, fabricating a form, and pouring new concrete. The project must be completed during a period of low river depth, and the contractor must coordinate with refuge staff to plan the work. The key requirements of the project include: • Demolishing and removing the damaged concrete and rebar section • Preparing the bedding for the new concrete • Fabricating a form for the new concrete • Pouring new concrete and imbedding traction bars to the surface • Coordinating with refuge staff to plan the work • Ensuring that equipment and materials are cleaned pre and post entry to the site to avoid the spread of invasive species • Minimizing rutting and other disturbances to refuge facilities and infrastructure
