The New York State Education Department is soliciting applications for Principal Practice Rubrics to assess the performance of principals. The rubrics will be used for annual professional performance reviews of classroom teachers and building principals. The department will review applications based on objective criteria and include approved rubrics on a list for use by Local Educational Agencies (LEAs). The list will be updated on a rolling basis, and no funding is directly associated with this application for approval. Key aspects of the opportunity include: • The RFQ is for Principal Practice Rubrics that align with the New York version of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSELs) • The rubrics will be used for the Required Principal School Visit subcomponent and/or the Optional Principal School Visit subcomponent • The application process is continuous, and submissions are accepted on a rolling basis • The department will review applications based on objective criteria • Approved rubrics will be included on a list for use by LEAs
