The Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) is seeking a qualified contractor to drill a horizontal access borehole at the EAA's Field Research Park site. The borehole will provide long-term access for subsurface water content monitoring using a neutron probe as part of a broader infiltration study. The project requires the contractor to drill a horizontal borehole between 200 and 400 feet in length, with a minimum depth of six feet below ground surface, and to install casing along the full length of the borehole. The contractor must also coordinate closely with EAA technical staff and provide access to drill cuttings throughout the drilling operation. Some key aspects of the project include: • Drilling a horizontal borehole at the designated research site • Constructing the borehole to allow passage of the downhole probe component of a 503 ELITE Hydroprobe system • Maintaining a minimum depth of six feet below ground surface along the full trajectory of the borehole • Using dry drilling methods to avoid introducing fluids into the subsurface • Coordinating closely with EAA technical staff and providing access to drill cuttings throughout the drilling operation
