The City of Midland is soliciting sealed bids for the major modernization of one existing elevator located within Midland Civic Arena. The selected contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform a full modernization of the elevator in accordance with all applicable codes, safety standards, and best industry practices. Key aspects of the project include resident safety, minimizing disruptions to daily activities, control of dust and debris, and reduction of noise levels. The project must be completed within 365 days of the construction start date. • The contractor shall provide a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of the project. • The contractor shall also provide a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price as security for payment of all persons or companies that supply materials and/or labor in connection with this project. • The contractor shall comply with all applicable safety regulations and standards, including those related to confined space entry, hazardous energy, and personal protective equipment. • The contractor shall provide a detailed construction schedule for review and approval by the City's Facilities Manager. • The contractor shall ensure that all work is performed in a professional and timely manner, in strict adherence to ADA guidelines, Michigan Building Code, ASME A17.1/CSA B44 Safety Code for Elevators, and any additional local jurisdictional requirements.
