Description:
The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District is seeking a labor negotiator to serve as the lead negotiator for the District during labor negotiations with three bargaining groups. The labor negotiator will be responsible for negotiating in good faith for and on behalf of the District, working directly with the HR Manager, and acting as a resource in the conduct of a total compensation survey. The ideal candidate will have experience in interest-based bargaining, knowledge of best practices in current employer-employee relations, labor relations, wage compensation, employee benefit and retirement programs, and extensive experience working in the public sector with elected officials and a broad range of agencies and labor organizations. • The labor negotiator will be responsible for negotiating labor contracts with three bargaining groups: AFSCME, Public Employees’ Union, Local #1, Management Support/Confidential Group, and the Management Group. • The labor negotiator will work directly with the HR Manager as its primary contact. • The labor negotiator will act as a resource in the conduct of a total compensation survey. • The labor negotiator will meet with designated staff to define management goals and policy for union negotiations. • The labor negotiator will conduct studies and analyze data to inform labor negotiations.
