Eligible applicants must be local education agencies (LEAs) operating at least one high school (grades 9‑12) and must submit a complete application via the EWEG system by November 7 2024. • Funding: $750,000 total; up to $75,000 per award; 5 % cap for administrative and indirect costs. • Scope: Projects may address “Teaching with AI” (e.g., AI‑enhanced tutoring, data‑driven instruction) and/or “Teaching about AI” (e.g., AI‑literacy curriculum, makerspaces, ethics lessons). • Requirements: AI advisory committee documentation (Attachment B), UEI registration in SAM.gov, and compliance with privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA). • Reporting: Monthly reimbursement requests; interim activity/financial reports (May 31 2025, Aug 31 2025, Dec 31 2025); final report by March 31 2026. • Evaluation: Narrative scored on need, project design, goals, budget, and capacity; minimum passing score 70/100; regional allocation ensures at least one award per NJ region.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$30,000 – $70,000

The maximum award per project is $75,000, but actual spend on external vendors (e.g., curriculum designers, AI platform providers, professional‑development facilitators) will be reduced by allowable indirect costs (up to 5 %). Assuming a typical vendor receives 70‑80 % of the award after administrative caps, the expected budget range is roughly $30,000 to $70,000. Factors influencing the final amount include the scope of services (single focus vs. dual focus), the proportion of costs allocated to direct services versus overhead, and any cost‑sharing or matching‑fund requirements imposed by the LEA.
