The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) is seeking as-needed contractual services to test and inspect new and existing athletic surfaces including natural grass turf, all weather turf (synthetic), basketball courts (indoor/outdoor), volleyball courts (indoor/outdoor), racquetball courts (indoor/outdoor) tennis courts, running tracks, and golf greens. The contract will provide RAP with resources to perform Athletic Surface Inspection, Testing and Related Professional Services and will provide the Department's Planning, Construction and Maintenance Branch with a means to meet current and future Athletic Surface Inspection, Testing and Related Professional Services projects. • The contract term is three years with an aggregate amount not to exceed Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000) with no guaranteed expenditure. • The contractor will be required to perform various tests including GMAX, Shock Absorption and Vertical Deformation, Rotational Resistance (Traction), Slip Resistance Scale and Deceleration, Vertical Ball Rebound and Ball Roll Tests. • The contractor will also be required to provide related professional services including submittal review and approval of bids/plans/renderings/drawings/list of materials to be used/design plan/code compliance/workmanship. • The contractor must have a minimum of 8 years of experience self-performing third-party athletic field testing and must provide evidence of their current membership affiliation with the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA).
