The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency is providing funding for the replacement of eligible existing diesel trucks with new all-electric trucks. The funding is available for businesses and government entities located in specific priority areas in Illinois. The grant will cover up to 75% of the eligible cost for government applicants and up to 50% for non-government applicants. The funding can also be used for necessary charging infrastructure. The applicant must provide a cost share, which can be met with other funding sources, but not with other Illinois EPA awards. • Eligible trucks include delivery/box trucks, waste haulers, landscape trucks, dump trucks, freight/transport trucks, and Class 8 port drayage trucks. • The existing diesel truck to be replaced must be operational and have an engine model year of 1992-2009. • The proposed new all-electric truck must be of the same type and class as the existing diesel truck and operate in the same priority area. • The applicant must satisfy qualification requirements through the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) Grantee Portal. • The applicant must submit a complete application, including all required forms and documentation. • The application will be reviewed for administrative completeness and eligibility, and selected on a first-come, first-serve basis until funding is depleted.
