Description
The Department of Defense (DoD) is seeking to acquire innovative commercial items, technologies, or services through competitive procedures outside traditional FAR-based solicitations. The Army Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-4, is responsible for the integration of the Army's supply chain, Installation and Logistics policies, programs, and sustainment functions across the enterprise. The current support model relies on reactive, resource-intensive staff augmentation, which places a heavy management burden on Government leadership. The Government seeks to transform this model by moving away from purchasing labor hours and instead procuring end-to-end strategic outcomes via an innovative "Managed Service" approach.
Some key points to consider:
• The opportunity is for a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) under 10 U.S.C. § 3458 and DFARS Subpart 212.70.
• The contract may be awarded as a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract or as an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA).
• The CSO is looking for innovative commercial solutions to support the Army's logistics and installation needs.
• The current support model is resource-intensive and the Government is looking to transform it into a more efficient and effective model.
