HRD Shield Enclosure

The Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) seeks a qualified contractor to design, fabricate, and install high‑resolution diffraction (HRD) radiation‑shield enclosures for the NSLS‑II beamline at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The scope includes full engineering design meeting stringent synchrotron radiation leakage requirements, detailed drawings certified by a New York State‑registered PE, manufacturing of lead‑steel composite panels, on‑site installation, safety and quality assurance programs, and a five‑year warranty. Proposals must include technical and price volumes, demonstrate prior experience with similar radiation shielding projects, outline manufacturing and installation plans, and comply with DOE and BSA procurement rules. Evaluation will be best‑value, weighting technical capability (70 pts) over price. • Design and engineering of shielded enclosures (doors, walls, ceiling, labyrinths, seals). • Fabrication of lead‑steel composite panels, lead containment, and durability measures. • On‑site installation, alignment with NSLS‑II storage ring, and testing for radiation leakage. • Comprehensive safety, health, and quality‑assurance plans. • Required past‑performance references, financial capability, and SAM registration.
