18-Inch Sewer Replacement Project

The Valley Sanitary District (VSD) is seeking a qualified consulting firm to provide comprehensive engineering services for the replacement of an 18‑inch sewer line that currently crosses under Union Pacific Railroad property. The scope includes field surveying, hydraulic analysis, design of a new gravity sewer alignment, preparation of bid‑ready plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E), permitting support, construction‑phase engineering assistance, and optional services such as title research, easement documentation, smart manhole cover evaluation, and utility potholing. The contractor will work closely with VSD staff, attend a mandatory pre‑proposal meeting, and must submit a detailed technical and fee proposal by the October 8 deadline. • Surveying, topographic & utility mapping, and establishment of control points. • Hydraulic modeling and design flow calculations for the new 18‑inch gravity pipe. • Design of new sewer facilities, manhole modifications, and abandonment plans. • Preparation of 30 %, 60 %, 90 % and final PS&E packages for public bidding. • Permitting coordination (city, UPRR, and other agencies) and bid support services. • Optional title/easement research, smart manhole cover evaluation, and potholing. • Ongoing project management, schedule & budget monitoring, and construction‑phase engineering support.
