Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking to purchase two new 18-inch Carbon Steel Globe Body Silent Check Valves for the Lower Granite Dam. The valves must meet specific technical requirements, including a minimum pressure/temperature rating of 285 PSI at 100°F, and must be designed to prevent flow reversal, surge, and water hammer. The contractor must provide the check-valve manufacturer's technical data sheets, factory hydrostatic and seat leakage batch sampling test certificates, and certified Material Test Reports (MTRs) for the check valve body and trim. The valves must be delivered within 22 weeks of contract award. Key considerations for this project include the ability to meet the specified technical requirements, provide the necessary documentation, and deliver the valves within the required timeframe. Some of the key points to consider are: • The valves must be designed to prevent flow reversal, surge, and water hammer in fluid pipeline systems. • The design, construction, workmanship, and material/components must be in accordance with the applicable sections of ASTM and all codes having jurisdiction. • The valves must conform in strength, quality of materials, workmanship, and sound engineering standards, and meet all features and salient characteristics listed in the specification. • The contractor must provide a commercial furnished warranty for a minimum period of 1 year. • The contractor is responsible for packing and shipping the components in a manner that will ensure undamaged and complete arrival to the delivery location.

Budget estimate

$20,000 – $100,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the cost of the check valves and the delivery requirements. The cost of two 18-inch Carbon Steel Globe Body Silent Check Valves can range from $10,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the manufacturer and the specific requirements. Additionally, the contractor must consider the cost of shipping and handling, as well as any potential costs associated with providing the necessary documentation and warranty. Based on these factors, a rough estimate for the budget for this project could be between $20,000 and $100,000.
