Sources Sought - Material Expeditor and Handler Services

The US Air Force is seeking sources for a requirement to provide material expeditor and handler services to support logistics and transportation operations at Joint Base Charleston (JB CHS). The services include cargo processing, receiving, managing, and storing incoming supplies and equipment. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining records and documenting actions, performing material handling duties, and ensuring safety and security procedures are followed. The contractor will also be required to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, and to perform tasks such as receiving, inspecting, and processing inbound shipments. The contract is expected to involve a significant amount of work, with 20 truckloads of over 7,000 items and a gross weight of 200,000 lbs, and an average monthly workload estimate consisting of one to three truckloads per month. Key considerations for the contractor include: • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of actions taken • Ensuring safety and security procedures are followed • Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment • Performing material handling duties • Receiving, inspecting, and processing inbound shipments • Maintaining integrity and accuracy of database information • Preparing accurate and complete records of actions taken • Notifying the COR within 30 minutes of any material discrepancies or safety and security violations.
