Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is gathering industry interest for the design, fabrication, and delivery of a modular hot‑cell system to be installed in the new Radioisotope Processing Facility (RPF). The effort covers one base‑award Transloading Modular Hot Cell with options for six additional transloading cells and seven processing cells, including shielding, cask handling equipment, and basic containment interfaces, but excludes the design of internal process equipment, automation, and ventilation systems which ORNL will supply. The contractor must comply with a suite of DOE and ASME quality and safety standards and provide detailed design, shielding analysis, fabrication plans, shipping and installation procedures, and testing documentation.
• Design and detailed engineering of transloading and processing modular hot cells (up to 14 units total).
• Fabrication of the base‑unit transloading hot cell and optional additional cells, including shielding, manipulators, ventilation ports, and a 1,000 lb overhead crane for the transloading cell.
• Development of fabrication, quality‑assurance, shipment, and on‑site installation plans; testing, commissioning, and as‑built documentation.
• Compliance with DOE Orders (e.g., 830, 413.3B, 425.1D) and ASME NQA‑1; adherence to leak‑tightness, HEPA filtration, and radiation‑shielding requirements.
