1916 Major Bus Accident Repair

The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is soliciting proposals for the repair of a 2019 40-foot Gillig transit bus that was involved in an accident. The bus sustained extensive damage to the right rear corner and requires major body repairs. The contractor will be responsible for inspecting the vehicle, determining the full extent of the repairs required, and providing a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, pricing, and timeline for completion. The RTA is seeking a contractor with experience in heavy-duty transit bus structural repair projects. • The contractor must provide all labor, parts, and equipment necessary to complete the repairs. • The contractor must demonstrate sufficient personnel, equipment, and facilities to perform the work. • The contractor must complete all repairs in accordance with applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and Gillig repair procedures. • The contractor must provide a minimum of five references documenting successful completion of comparable projects. • The contractor must maintain insurance coverage throughout the period the vehicle is in their possession. The RTA will evaluate proposals based on factors such as approach and methodology, qualifications and experience, pricing, and quality of proposal.
