Description

The U.S. Army is seeking a qualified hauler to transport approximately 250 tons (≈200 cubic yards) of lead‑impacted, non‑hazardous soil from Fort Leavenworth, KS to the Johnson County landfill. The contract is firm‑fixed‑price, covering all hauling, disposal fees, and required permits. The period of performance runs from September 30 2026 through December 1 2026, but the actual hauling is expected to take only a few days. Three medium‑capacity dump trucks (10‑14 CY) must be available for the duration of the operation; larger trucks are not acceptable due to site constraints. The contractor must provide a Local Access Credential for drivers and handle all traffic‑control coordination with Fort Leavenworth. Quotes are due September 8 2026 via email to the contract specialist. • Transport ~250 tons of lead‑impacted soil from Grid 56, Fort Leavenworth to Johnson County landfill. • Provide three medium‑capacity dump trucks (10‑14 CY) for a short‑duration haul (≈1‑2 weeks). • All costs (haul, disposal fees, permits, driver credentials) are borne by the contractor under a firm‑fixed‑price contract. • Period of performance: 30 Sep 2026 – 1 Dec 2026 (actual work likely 3‑5 days). • Submission deadline: 8 Sep 2026 2:00 PM CST, via email to [email protected]. • Questions due: 21 Aug 2026 2:00 PM CST. • Required permits: Special Waste Authorization/Permit from Kansas State. • No traffic‑control duties for contractor; Fort Leavenworth handles it.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $150,000

Based on industry rates for medium‑capacity dump‑truck haulage (≈$150‑$300 per hour) plus disposal fees at the Johnson County landfill (estimated $30‑$50 per ton), the total contract value is likely between $50,000 and $150,000. The low end assumes minimal haul days and lower disposal fees; the high end assumes the full 250 tons at the upper disposal rate plus additional labor and equipment costs.
