Description

The U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) is seeking preliminary information from capable and reliable sources who may be interested in submitting a proposal to provide Remote Monitoring Services. The requirement is for the monitoring and schedule planning of medium wave and shortwave transmission, using both remote monitoring services and other remote receivers to be completed in Finland. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential local qualified businesses capable of delivering these services being requested. Some key aspects of the job include: • Providing shortwave scheduling support requiring intimate knowledge of the Agency's broadcasting schedule, transmission assets, scheduling software, as well as in-depth knowledge of HF propagation. • Providing support for scheduling meetings by providing suggestions for improving schedule based on propagation and potential interference. • Providing SDO ratings of sounds from remote monitoring systems [RMSs] in various locations. • Providing reports of irregularities noted while rating sounds and live monitoring. • Providing suggestions for improving reception based on live and RMS monitoring. • Providing ad-hoc information about medium wave and shortwave facilities used by other broadcasters upon request.
