Transformer Service

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a contractor to provide transformer inspection, oil sampling, and oil analyses for all liquid-filled transformers at the NIST facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The contractor will be responsible for collecting oil samples, performing oil analyses, and providing recommendations. The contract will be for a base year with four optional years. The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as NIST site regulations. • The contractor will provide all required management, labor, materials, equipment, tools, protective equipment, and other items needed to accomplish the work. • The contractor will perform visual inspections on each transformer, including transformer oil level, tank pressures, temperature, and incoming cabling for deficiency. • The contractor will collect transformer fluid samples for fluid analyses, including quality oil analysis, dissolved gas analysis, and PCB analysis. • The contractor will provide a written report with the transformer visual inspection and transformer oil analyses, and provide recommendations.
