Lease of Waterplace Park Gondola and Dock Concessions Five Year Contract

The City of Providence is seeking proposals from qualified entities to operate a gondola and dock concession at Waterplace Park. The selected proposer will lease two docks and operate gondola rides, pontoon boat services, and other water-based recreational offerings while promoting public access and enjoyment of the park. The initial term of the lease is five years, with the option for two additional five-year extensions. The proposer must demonstrate experience in managing similar water-based concessions or recreational operations, ability to recruit and manage personnel, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The proposal must include a description of the proposer's experience and qualifications, proposed operation plan, lease payment proposal, and commitment to public access and partnership with the Parks Department. • The City seeks a Concessionaire who will operate a minimum of three authentic Venetian-style gondolas, staffed by trained gondoliers. • The Concessionaire must maintain and repair the leased docks at their expense. • The Concessionaire must foster public access by allowing subletting at no charge to nonprofit or community organizations for public use of the docks whenever possible or during off-season periods. • The Concessionaire must operate in partnership with the Parks Department to maximize safe, high-quality, and family-friendly experiences. • The Concessionaire must comply with all applicable City, State, and Federal laws, including licensing, safety, and insurance requirements.
