Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is offering a term contract for the sale of Demil A Mixed Metals Scrap located at the Kennedy Space Center. The successful bidder will be responsible for removing scrap material on a recurring, as-needed basis in coordination with the Agency Government Representative (AGR). The scrap material is sold solely for recycling as material content, and resale or reuse of the property as usable property is strictly prohibited.
• The contract has a three-year base period with up to two one-year option periods and a potential six-month extension at Government discretion.
• The estimated scrap generation is 1,730,112 lbs. (865 tons) per year, 144,176 lbs. (72 tons) per month, and 33,300 lbs. (16-17 tons) per week.
• The contractor must provide containers, perform removal as requested by the Government, deliver and remove containers within required response timeframes, and coordinate all activity through the AGR.
• Billing is based on a published market index, and payment is due within two business days of system-generated notice.
• A performance bond of $6,000.00 is required within ten business days of award notification and must be in place prior to performance.
