Description

This solicitation calls for the design‑build, supply, and installation of a new precast Type E storm‑water inlet structure and approximately 60 linear feet of 15‑inch HDPE storm‑drain pipe, connecting the inlet to an existing brick manhole at the former “Old Salt Lot” (2500 S Broadway, Camden, NJ). The work includes excavation, trenching, utility protection, pipe bedding, back‑filling, pavement restoration, and final testing to ensure a functional drainage system. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, traffic‑control measures, and incidental items, and must comply with NJDOT, NJDEP, and SJPC contract requirements, including prevailing‑wage, insurance, and various statutory certifications. • Install one precast Type E inlet structure with casting frame, grates, and associated fittings. • Install 60 ft of 15‑in HDPE pipe at a minimum 0.50 % grade, including all couplings, gaskets, and haunching. • Perform trench excavation, utility protection, de‑watering, back‑fill, and pavement restoration (minimum DGA sub‑base, HMA base, and surface courses). • Provide traffic‑control, erosion‑control, and site‑clean‑up; submit good‑faith EEO/AA documentation and a $10,000 unforeseen construction allowance.

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $350,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract value. Based on comparable municipal storm‑drain projects of this size—one inlet structure, 60 ft of HDPE pipe, excavation, and pavement restoration—the probable contract amount ranges from roughly $150,000 for a low‑bid contractor to $350,000 for a higher‑priced bid, depending on labor rates, equipment costs, and any unforeseen conditions. The $10,000 “unforeseen construction” allowance is already baked into the bid sheet, supporting this estimate.
