A--Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal (RURAL) H

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) seeks a qualified Study Coordinating Center to manage the expansion of the RURAL Heart and Lung longitudinal cohort into up to four additional Southern Plains counties. The contractor will (1) identify and select expansion counties, (2) procure and operate mobile examination units comparable to the original study, (3) conduct baseline clinical examinations of up to 2,000 participants, (4) manage annual follow‑up, event ascertainment, and data/biospecimen repositories, (5) engage communities, (6) oversee data management, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, and (7) mentor early‑career investigators. The effort spans June 1 2027 – August 31 2031 (≈51 months) with a base period and multiple 12‑month options plus a final 3‑month close‑out. Deliverables include a fully functional web portal, IRB compliance, annual reports, and final data sets for NIH repositories. • Federal IDIQ contract (75N98026R00074) for a 4‑year + 3‑month study coordinating effort. • Scope: county selection, mobile exam unit procurement, participant recruitment (≈2,000), longitudinal follow‑up, event adjudication, data/biospecimen repository management. • Required expertise: cardiovascular/ pulmonary epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, biorepository operations, community engagement, web accessibility (Section 508). • Deliverables: web‑based data capture system, community advisory boards, quarterly/annual progress reports, manuscripts, training for early‑career investigators. • Timeline: Task Area A & B (June 2027 – Aug 2031), Task Area C close‑out (June – Aug 2031).
